“All Girls Radio” – CBC The Current 2004

This radio documentary first aired on CBC Radio’s The Current, on 20 September 2004.

The girls and young women of colour hailing from Cape Verde and Haiti, now in Boston’s Dorchester neighbourhood, were tired of the sexual harassment and violence in their lives. And they were tired of how the misogyny in Hip Hop music reinforced this. So they got wise, got busy and started their own neighbourhood radio station with positive hip hop: radio LOG (now GRLZ Radio / grlzradio.org)…where girls are heard and respected!
